Revised rubbish collections for Chelmsford

6.50.00pm GMT Fri 6th Feb 2009

Recycling Collection Point.

Chelmsford Council has decided to abandon the collections planned for Monday-Wednesday this week, following the snow. They will not operate a 'catch-up Saturday' like they do for bank holidays.

There will be no brown bin collections this week or next (not that most people will have done any gardening!). The cardboard that should have been collected this week will be collected with the green box the week after next.

The revised schedule is on the council website at: http://www.chelmsford.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=16541

The council says that the problem remains with the estate roads and footpaths, rather than the main roads and bus routes that are now largely clear. They are concerned about being unable to manoeuvre large vehicles safely on these estate roads
