Competition to find Chelmsford's worst pothole

11.16.00am GMT Wed 16th Jan 2008

Chelmsford Lib Dems are inviting you to help them find the worst pothole in Chelmsford. With the proposed cuts to the Highways Maintenance budget, there will be more and more potholes in the months ahead.

The Conservatives at Essex County Council have decided to not fix potholes unless they are more than 50mm deep (current standard is 25mm) and to wait much longer before fixing them. To fight these hazardous proposals, we're asking for your pictures to help us demonstrate to just how stupid it would be to cut funding.

We're asking YOU to send us your photos to put on our website to help our campaign to oppose cuts to the Highways budget. You can see some of the photos we've received so far here: http://www.chelmsford-libdems.org.uk/pages/Potholes.html

We'll be awarding a House of Commons Bottle of Wine signed by Colchester MP Bob Russell to the best photo we receive.
