The win follows hot on the heels of the Lib Dem gain in Broomfield & The Walthams on 11th September 2007 and the five Lib Dem gains in May's round of elections.

Lib Dem Group Leader Mike Mackrory said "I would like to congratulate James and the team on a fantastic campaign. I know that James will work hard for the people of Moulsham & Central."

On the Chelmsford Borough Council there are now 31 Conservatives; 26 Liberal Democrats and no Labour.
