Nick Clegg and Chris Huhne

Nick Clegg or Chris Huhne to be next Lib Dem leader

So it's confirmed - nominations have closed and the Lib Dem leadership contest is between Nick Clegg and Chris Huhne. Whoever wins, at least the name is easy to get on to a poster! In blog-world, there has been much discussion about the two candidates. Given that the Lib Dems are more united on policy than the other parties, the contest is going to be more about style and strategy than policy differences. See www.libdemblogs.co.uk amongst others for discussions.

Various people still weighing up the options, including Don Liberali at http://liberalimafia.blogspot.com/2007/10/ban-mattanza.html, and David Nikel points to the discussion on http://politicalbetting.com/index.php/archives/2007/10/28/has-huhne-found-the-weapon-to-beat-clegg
