West Chelmsford could be one of many seats to go Lib Dem

A map has just been published showing that there could be a massive increase in the number of Liberal Democrat MPs, including West Chelmsford. It is based on an independent opinion poll for the "Independent on Sunday" newspaper.

The poll asked how people would vote "if they thought that the Liberal Democrats could win in their constituency". The national results show that the Liberal Democrats could poll 37% of the vote across the country, compared to only 28% for Labour and 26% for the Tories.

West Chelmsford Liberal Democrat candidate Stephen Robinson said, "These poll findings reflect what people are telling us on the ground. A significant number of former Conservative and Labour voters are willing to switch to the Liberal Democrats."
